I couldn’t agree more, and I think even beyond that, there is simply no limit to what we can accomplish when we work together.
What does this look like for our community?
In 2015, the Magento community:
- presented over 500 talks on Magento or at Magento-centric events,
- produced over 100 podcast episodes centered around Magento,
- organized conferences and meetups in over 24 different countries,
- wrote three books about Magento,
- contributed to official product documentation and core code,
- wrote countless blog posts to raise awareness and education, and
- answered thousands of questions on both StackExchange and the Magento Forums.
While 2016 is not quite over, it's still clear this community is running forward at a rapid rate!
So far in 2016, the Magento community has:
- presented over 725 talks on Magento or at Magento-centric events,
- produced over 100 podcast episodes centered around Magento,
- organized conferences and meetups in over 34 different countries,
- written seven books about Magento,
- contributed to official product documentation and core code,
- written over 1,000 blog posts to raise awareness and education, and
- answered thousands of questions on both StackExchange and the Magento Forums.
In addition to everything above, your endless efforts of testing, feedback, pull requests, and reported issues have all helped improve our product to make it better meet your needs as well as the needs of your customers and our broader community. (Yay, open source!)
How can we keep working together?
Whether you’re new to the Magento Community (hi!) or a veteran looking for more ways to get involved, here’s a few ideas:
- Answer, or ask, questions on the Magento Forums or Stack Exchange.
- Find a local Magento Meetup (or start one) to meet others who use and develop on Magento.
- Listen to advice from Magento Masters on how to contribute (from their MageTitans panel).
- Check out our Contributor Guide to learn how to get started contributing to DevDocs and our core code on Github.
